Through hard work and dedication to pursuing excellence in education, Apostle Lockett, a native of Cincinnati, OH has received two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Psychology and Sociology, a Masters Degree in Counseling Education, Honorary Doctorate Degree and most recently an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree.
Apostle Lockett, a true visionary, is the founder of Evangel Fellowship Word Ministries Inc., a multi-racial ministry where he serves as the Senior Pastor. He is also the author of the book “Understanding Your Divine Calling”. A practical book designed to lead you into the divine revelation of discovering your distinct and unique calling in life. Other vital ministries founded by him include: Positive Direction for Youth & Families, an outreach ministry designed to address the needs of at-risk youth and families; The Malachi House, a residential program geared toward helping men with alcohol and drug addictions; Wisdom Training Institute, a training center designed for professionals that are committed to advancing others by providing solutions for building stronger lives, families, and businesses. Additionally, Apostle Lockett provides Apostolic covering to the Greater Piedmont District churches, which involves over 29 covenant churches.
Because Apostle Lockett is a man of vision and foresight, it is no wonder that he was selected in 1996-97 as “Man of the Year” for the Local Chapter of the Greensboro NAACP for his outstanding service with at-risk youth and families. He was also appointed in January 2005, as the National Director of Church Growth and Development Department by the International Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God In Christ, Bishop G.E. Patterson. In November of 2005, he was the recipient of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) 2005 Director’s Community Leadership Award which is a very prestigoius award that is presented to one person per state and Apostle Lockett was selected for the state of North Carolina. In April of 2006, he was the recipient of the 2006 North Carolina Gospel Announcer’s Guild Lifetime Achievement Award.
Apostle Lockett is the husband of the lovely Barbara Turner Lockett and they are the proud parents of three God-fearing children, Faith, Otis Jr., and Joshua.
