Bookkeeper (part-time) »

Summary: Calvary Revival Church has an immediate opening for a bookkeeper to work in our accounting department. This is a part-time position 25-30 hours per week. The duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • General Ledger

Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree and/or 3 years experience in a bookkeeping/accounting position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Bookstore Supervisor (full-time) »

Summary: The Retail Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operation of the Discover Life Bookstore & Café and related satellites. This individual will be the role model for excellence in customer service and will assist in leading the sales team in meeting or exceeding the sales goals and objectives. The Retail Operations Supervisor plans, directs and supervises staff and all activities of the bookstore and café. The maintenance and building of strong client relationship is paramount and a key component of the operation supervisor’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in creating a professional, friendly and welcoming environment and culture within the bookstore and café, so that all staff are motivated and excited and look forward to serving the customer.
  • Responsible for customer service associates and volunteers providing customers with superior customer service.
  • Oversees merchandise presentation and provides feedback to ensure correct product assortments, promotions and planning for events.
  • Reviews and provides direction on department goals, strategy, floor plans and peak period business planning. Reviews work schedules to ensure adequate store coverage.
  • Ensures book orders are placed in a timely manner; calls in orders to vendors and publishers. Seeks input from Director of Marketing in developing inventory plans to maintain proper levels to meet customer demand; plans for special sales and promotions.
  • Manages the visual presentation to create an exciting shopping experience for customers.
  • Makes effective suggestions and recommendations that are given particular weight regarding the employment status of assigned employees.
  • Controls inventory; determines quantity to order and when to order; authorizes special orders.
  • Prepares written reports such as daily cash balancing reports and submits to Bookstore Manager.
  • Coordinates and negotiates with sales representatives and vendors regarding merchandise and orders.
  • Determines policy and procedure for operation; makes needed changes to work methods and procedures; communicates changes to staff.
  • Performs periodic inventory checks and oversees annual inventory process.
  • Opens store for business; closes and locks store daily.
  • Prepares necessary paperwork such as work, time and cost records and various personnel forms.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of retail management or strong customer service experience.
  • Bookstore retail experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead a team.
  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience in retail required.
  • Strong customer service, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

IT Support Specialist (full-time) »

Summary: Calvary Revival Church has an immediate opening for a IT Support Specialist. The IT Support Specialist provides technical software, hardware and network support regarding network infrastructure, PC deployment, help desk and trouble shooting to all Calvary Revival Church (CRC) and Calvary Christian School System (CCSS) users. The IT Support Specialist role under the general supervision of the Director of Administration is responsible for the day to day support and trouble shooting of the network infrastructure and PC support.

Responsibilities:

  • Fielding incoming help requests from staff members in a courteous manner.
  • Provides technical assistance and PC support for a wide range of software products and applications.
  • Provide network security, maintenance and patches.
  • Diagnoses and resolves end-user network or local printer problems, PC hardware problems, e-mail, Internet and local area network access problems.
  • Helps install local area network cabling systems and equipment such as network interface cards, hubs and switches.
  • Performs hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading, software updates, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and install/configure operating system software, or anti-virus software configuring non-server systems and applications.

Education/Experience:

  • Two years college level work and Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of desktop operating systems, various software applications, and basic hardware for the PC; network systems and management; internet technologies and products.
  • Three years providing end-user phone support for current PC desktop and application software or two years installing, upgrading, trouble shooting and repairing personal computers in a network environment.

Customer Service Associate/Bookstore (full-time) »

Summary: Discover Life Bookstore & Café located in Military Circle Mall has an immediate opening for a full-time Customer Service Associate. The Discover Life Bookstore and Café Associate will be responsible for implementing daily retail operations and transactions while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to multi-task by handling and prioritizing many diverse tasks efficiently and in a timely manner as well as provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Greet customers and acknowledge their requests and concerns in a respectful and professional manner by phone or in person. Must stay abreast of all product and provide knowledgeable and helpful service in all departments of bookstore and café.
  • Performs retail sales activities (i.e., sales, refunds); processes cash, credit/debit card transactions.
  • Maintains accuracy of store inventory; updates and maintains computer data base of store inventory.
  • Maintains bookstore departments as assigned; ensures orderliness and cleanliness of retail areas in bookstore and café.
  • Opens and/or closes bookstore in accordance with detailed procedures.
  • Observes proper hand washing guidelines and prepare deli items, salads, café beverages, desserts and other items with highest degree of accuracy and cleanliness. Checks temperatures and freshness dates for specific items as directed. Follow recipe card and food handling instructions to maintain highest standards possible.
  • Ensures café items are stocked accurately and presented properly at all times. Assists with shipping and receiving items, as well as inventory stocking of shelves and ticket merchandise.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned and assists with café special events as needed. Cross trains in all areas of cafe.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Retail experience preferred

  • Ability to work evenings, week-ends and holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous service to store customers

Provider Assistants (part-time) »

Summary: Calvary Christian Early Childhood Education Center has four immediate openings for Provider Assistants in the toddler classroom. There are two part-time positions; 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning and carrying out developmentally appropriate lessons/activities for infants, toddlers and PreK/2 children.
  • Assists the primary care provider in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the development, maturity and interest of the children.
  • Assists in providing individual and small group instruction.
  • Assists in the regulation of activities such as toilet training, personal hygiene, relaxation periods and lunch.
  • Performs related work as assigned by primary care provider.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • College credits in Early Childhood Development preferred.
  • At least two years of programmatic experience in a childcare setting, nursery school or elementary school working with young children.
